When comms takes the next step📽️
I was delighted to be joined by Craig J., CEO at the Royal Osteoporosis Society. A charity that campaigns for the 3.5 MILLION people in the UK who have Osteoporosis.
Craig occupies still all too rarefied air. But for every external affairs professional who makes it to CEO, it opens up further opportunities for the rest of the profession.
So, when should an organisation turn to comms for its CEO?
"We have the biggest miss-match between the people who we have got to serve and the number of people who need to be served... so we know the best way we can change their world is to push the condition to the top of the agenda, to influence and to campaign"
That's when!
As Craig said, he was the let field option when they hired him, but hire him they did, because they saw the value in bringing someone in who understood reputation, campaigning, and how to find a space for your cause.
As ever, I am incredibly grateful for the generosity of Craig and all our guests, and I hope you are enjoying watching them as much as I am enjoying making them.
Three Questions With... Craig Jones
🔷 The dreaded party question: Wait, what do you do again?
🔷 The hindsight question: What advice would you give your younger self?
🔷 The sliding doors question: If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
